"SOUTH HINKSEY, a parish in the hundred of Hormer, county Berks, 1 mile S.E. of North Hinksey. This parish, which is of small extent, contains the waterworks for the supply of Oxford. The tithes were commuted for land and corn-rents under an Enclosure Act in 1814. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Oxford, value with Wootton annexed, £183.
